Projects
We will uncover:
(1) How the gut microbiota crosstalk to the epithelial cells via affecting key histone modifications (such as crotonylation) and short chain fatty acids and what are the precise molecular mechanisms for this crosstalk;
(2) How this relates to chromatin structure, e.g., chromatin accessibility (ATAC-seq), genome organisation (promoter-capture-HiC) and gene expression (mRNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq);
(3) How is chromatin affected by colitis in experimental colitis models and in patients and how does this relate to chromatin dynamics.
